We are looking for a motivated Associate Scientist upstream process development. As part of a team you will plan, prepare and execute scientific studies, which include bioreactor and cell culture experiments. Experiments may be performed in bioreactors or in a reduced-scale model. You will be responsible for analyzing the results and reporting main conclusions. You will have ownership of some of the process equipment in the lab, being the responsible person for troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance if needed, and keeping all documentation up-to-date. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal systems and working processes, supporting the lab head and EHS coordinator.
Due to the R&D environment, there are project rotations so the role is not very routine-based. We`re looking for an individual who is capable of working focused and accurately on routine-tasks however also able to adapt to changes in workflow.We are looking for a professional with the following background:
You have an Msc or BSc in a relevant discipline, or a MLO with at least 4 years of experience in biotechnology or pharmacy;
You have a strong affinity with upstream process development with hands-on experience with bioreactors, preferably at lab-scale in an R&D environment;
Experience with production, technology transfer and knowledge of GMP is an advantage;
You are a motivated team player who is flexible and has a can-do attitude, and a pro-active mindset;
Lab-based function, ideal candidate has a little experience working in the lab and enjoys doing practical work.
You have good communication skills in English, written and spoken;
